RRC is in need of caring people to sponsor our horses. Sponsors help offset the cost to care for our horses. The Racehorse Rescue Centre has a number of  horses and ponies which will stay at RRC for the remainder of their lives and rely solely on donations for their care. Some of the needs of our horses can be quite costly and having more that one Sponsor is a great gift!

Please consider being a sponsor for one of our wonderful horses. (Horses may have more than one sponsor) Please be aware horses are re-homed but RRC keeps ownership. If your horse is rehomed your sponsorship will support other horses here at the Centre and allow us to continue monitoring all horses still in our care. To become a sponsor:

  • select how much you would like to donate each month
  • you can alter the amount you wish to donate

Sponsor Frosty

Is a 16.3h mare 9yrs. old who came to us in 2012. She helps with our Freedom To Ride programme allowing the community and disadvantaged groups free access to horses


Sponsor Peak

Born in New Zealand and retired from a successful UK racing career in 2005 to a new non racing owner. He did local shows and hacking out then unfortunately his owner became too ill to look after him and we stepped in. He his our Ambassador.


Sponsor Buddy

Is a 16.1h TB 4yrs old gelding and he has a lovely temperament and very laid back. He was a flat racer and tried on hurdles. He will stay at RRC to help nervous riders help build up their confidence and be part of our “introduction to horses” program.


Sponsor Prince

Red Ryan (Prince) was the foal of Ignition and was also rescued with the help of Facebook members. Born 2010 chestnut colt, was very frightened, not been handled by anyone. but is now settled down at the Centre and is an important part of our equine assisted therapy program.


Sponsor Ted

This beautiful boy is appropriately named Teddy. He loves cuddles and has one of the sweetest nature. He can’t be rehomed due to his on-going hoof issues so will continue to live out his life under the charity.


Sponsor Woody

Is a Falabella pony that came to us overweight and loves to chase the ex racehorses around the paddock, keeping them fit while helping improve his condition.


Sponsor Switch

Switch was Wayne Rooney’s former racehorse, Switcharooney. He was rescued by the Racehorse Rescue Centre after he needed treatment for a serious Keratoma


Sponsor Lord

Lord came to us with tendon injuries to both front legs. Without us he had no future. He is on box rest for six months and has in-hand one to one exercise with our volunteers.
